I'm sure that if anyone still visits this site that they will see I have not updated the site for quite some time. Unfortunately several events lead me to such a decline in activity, and several of my key non-core projects (including Capcom Central itself) have since gone on a hiatus. Halting any progression of the site.
Unfortunately, there is hardly anything I can do to fix Capcom Central instantly in the state that it is in. There is way too much to do, and the coding of the site is a mess. Almost everything is being run through a flat file system which really doesn't lend itself to being very efficient, especially from an administrative point of view.
Luckily, however, I've recently managed to finally find some time off and as such some time to work on my pet project that was indeed first envisioned in 2003. That's right, Capcom Central (as incomplete as it is) has been around for almost five years. It's something I am proud to see still online despite such a lack of activity, and I am also proud to see that people visit the site for the little information we have on here.
Capcom Central isn't gone, quite yet. Through it all I am making a conscious effort to not give up, and will have the site up and running at some point soon. I won't give a date like I have previously, because to be honest both my guests and myself know that there is no way I'd ever meet it.
Capcom Central will be undergoing a major overhaul - the site will still look the same, as if it ain't broke we won't fix it. The coding of the site will slowly be converted to a complex content managment system, allowing both myself and more staff members (who I will be recruiting soon) to add content to the site without me having to manually edit EVERY SINGLE page, which is the system I am currently cmploying now. The news sytem will be changed to a heavily modified version of Wordpress, and I will be implemented a few new features (including some dreaded Web 2.0 features that seems to be all the rage these days)
The infamous forums will be returning again at some point (and hopefully live up to their former glory, being larger than the official Capcom forums themselves).
Until then, I ask you to hang in there with me and watch as I slowly rebirth the site and hopefully return it to it's former glory, and more.
I'm shedding my old screen name, Nemesis556, and taking on my real name, James Mitchell to reflect the professionalism I want to place into the site. From now on that is the name I will be known by, and the name I will use on the forums when I re-open them.
I hope to see all my loyal fans return when I re-open the site and the forums. Until then, you probably won't see me around for a while. I may open a development blog to show progress too.
